Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen Dark Arisen launches October 9, 2026
Global date, storefront time zones, SKUs, and how much new content Capcom is promising.
Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen launches on October 9, 2026. That is the date Capcom printed on the official site, in the June 10, 2026 press release, and on storefronts for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam, and Nintendo Switch 2. The expansion has not launched. Anything written in past tense as if Norgan were already a live destination is wrong.
Steam and some digital stores show October 8 in North American time zones because the unlock is timed to the evening of the 8th Pacific / morning of the 9th in Europe. The marketing date remains October 9. If your library says October 8, you are looking at a clock, not a delay.
Platforms on that morning
- PlayStation 5 — $29.99 expansion DLC if you own the 2024 campaign; $49.99 Dark Arisen product that includes the base game.
- Xbox Series X|S — same two SKUs. Ray tracing is not supported on Xbox Series S; that is a hardware note, not a different release date.
- PC (Steam) — same two SKUs. App listing for the combined product is the Dark Arisen store page; confirm you are not buying the campaign twice. See system requirements.
- Nintendo Switch 2 — one package that includes the base game and the expansion. There is no $29.99 Switch 2 DLC for a campaign that never existed on that hardware.
Full SKU and store-link detail lives on platforms and pre-order. This page is the date and the clock.
What launches on October 9 (and what already did)
On October 9 you get the paid expansion:
- Norgan, the Forsaken Dominion — a snowy northern region, story about 15–20 hours, recommended around level 40, relic appraisal with Jiera for Rift Crystals.
- Twelve Lost Rites — Pathfinder dungeon challenges on the base map, from about level 20, 30–60 minutes each, fixed loot from past Arisen.
- New hairstyles and tattoos in the character creator for Arisen and pawns.
- The Norgan Fashion Set / Northern Attire if you pre-ordered or bought in the early-adopter window, delivered to inn item storage.
You do not wait until October 9 for:
- The Eternal Ferrystone and extra Portcrystals (June 2026 title update).
- Six weapon-skill slots, three Arisen save slots, Dragonsplague adjustments, and the performance pass (late-August title update / Title Update 3.2).
- The 2024 campaign itself, which you can already play — and which a digital bundle pre-order can grant immediately.
Those free patches are documented on title updates. Hard Mode is not on the October 9 list. It is in development after launch.
How long the new content is
Capcom and Kinoshita’s public numbers:
- Northern story: about 15–20 hours.
- Twelve Lost Rites: about 30–60 minutes each (another 6–12 hours if you clear every door).
- Combined package: 25-plus hours, plus however long you chase relic rolls.
That is not a 200-hour live-service season. It is a single-player expansion with a loot loop. Plan a week of evenings, not a second job, unless you intend to appraise every spoil in Norgan.
Time-zone and storefront gotchas
Official product copy has used unlocks such as Thursday, October 8, 2026 at 5:00 PM PDT / Friday, October 9, 2026 at 1:00 AM BST for Steam and Xbox digital, with PlayStation and Switch 2 windows printed per region. Always trust the countdown on your store, not a screenshot from another country.
Pre-order cutoffs for the fashion set have been listed separately (examples: Nintendo Switch 2 or PS5 by October 8, 2026, 8:59 PM PDT; Xbox or Steam by October 8, 2026, 4:59 PM PDT). Those are bonus windows, not the expansion’s existence. If you buy after the cutoff you still get Dark Arisen on October 9; you might not get Northern Attire as a bonus.
Physical copies follow retailer stock, not a Steam unlock. If you need the game in the drive on Friday morning, do not assume a Thursday evening digital clock applies to a cardboard box.
Who should start the 2024 campaign now
If you have never played Dragon’s Dogma 2, October 9 is a bad first hour. Lost Rites open around 20; Norgan is aimed at 40. Five weeks of evening play before launch is enough to be in that band if you start after the six-skill patch. Use getting started and how to play, then park at vocations once you have a Main Pawn you can stand.
If you already finished the campaign in 2024, you still want the June and August title updates installed so you are not walking into Norgan with four skills and one save file. You do not need to wait for Hard Mode. You do not need a new vocation. You need a party and a relic plan.
What will not happen on October 9
- No Roblox version. This is Capcom’s single-player action RPG.
- No online four-player campaign. Pawns stay AI.
- No eleventh vocation.
- No confirmed Hard Mode toggle in the ship build.
- No relic appraisal in Vernworth. Jiera works in Norgan.
When the servers (and the Switch 2 cartridges) flip, this page will change from a countdown to a patch-history footnote. Until then, the only date that matters is October 9, 2026, and the only honest sentence is that Dark Arisen is still ahead of you.
For the people you will meet that week, start with Eir and the Fallen Dragon. For the storefront button, use pre-order.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers before the October 9, 2026 launch.
When does Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen launch?
October 9, 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam, and Nintendo Switch 2. Some Steam clocks show October 8 because of Pacific unlock time. The expansion is not live yet.
Is the Switch 2 version the same date?
Yes. Switch 2 launches Dark Arisen on October 9, 2026 as a combined package that includes the 2024 campaign and the expansion.
How much content is in the expansion?
About 15–20 hours of Norgan story, twelve Lost Rites dungeons at 30–60 minutes each, and 25-plus hours if you do both plus relic hunting. Your relic grind can run longer.
Does a bundle pre-order let me play Dark Arisen early?
No. Digital pre-orders of the $49.99 bundle can grant immediate access to the *base game*. Norgan, Lost Rites, and relic appraisal still wait for October 9.
Is Hard Mode part of launch day?
Not confirmed. Hard Mode is in development after launch for level-cap players. Do not treat it as an October 9 feature until official patch notes say so.
What if my storefront still says 2024?
You are on the original Dragon's Dogma 2 page. Use the Dark Arisen product or expansion DLC listing. Cross-check against the platforms page so you do not buy the campaign twice.
