Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen Vocation Tier List Hub
Pre-launch ranks, pawn roles, and six-skill relic theory — not live-game data.
This hub collects every ranking page we are writing before Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen launches on October 9, 2026. Capcom has not shipped the expansion yet. What you read here is a preview: it mixes official vocation rules, the late-August six-skill patch, and hands-on notes from Norgan demos. Treat every S-rank as a working hypothesis, not a post-launch meta snapshot.
There are still no new vocations. Fighter, Archer, Thief, Mage, Warrior, Sorcerer, Magick Archer, Mystic Spearhand, Trickster, and Warfarer remain the full list. The combat change that actually moves ranks is the jump from four equipped weapon skills to six, plus relic weapons that can roll upgraded or unique skills after Jiera appraises them in Norgan.
Pages in this hub
- Vocation ranks — a pre-release S through C list, with Magick Archer’s Singular Sanguine Radiance bow as the relic example and notes on why six slots lift Warfarer and Mystic Spearhand.
- Party compositions — Arisen plus three AI pawns, split between snowy Norgan hunts and enclosed Lost Rites runs.
- Endgame builds — relic plus six-skill theory for the 25-plus-hour loop, and why Lost Rites loot stays fixed while Norgan relics stay random.
If you are still learning the classes themselves, start with the vocations guide and the pawn primer instead of jumping straight into ranks.
How these lists are built
We weight four things, in this order:
- Official constraints. No extra vocations. Relic appraisal only in Norgan. Lost Rites rewards are fixed sets once held by past Arisen. Hard Mode is in development after launch, so it is not a ranking axis yet.
- The six-skill patch. Warfarer no longer has to spend a four-slot bar on Rearmament and then live with three skills. Mystic Spearhand can keep Mirour Vesture without dropping a damage tool. Magick Archer can hold elemental coverage and a support arrow at the same time.
- Hands-on relics. Preview footage and demos showed Magick Archer bows such as Singular Sanguine Radiance rolling upgraded skills (for example a Sagittate-line shot and a Fortifying-style arrow). That is one relic, not a guarantee every class gets an equivalent drop on day one.
- Party reality. This is a single-player campaign. Pawns are AI companions hired from the Rift, not human partners. A vocation that looks weaker on the Arisen can still be the best pawn slot, which is why Mage stays high in party comps even when Arisen Mage sits lower on the personal rank page.
We do not rank around live drop rates, exact relic percentages, or a post-launch Hard Mode. Those numbers do not exist in public patches yet.
What changed since the 2024 base game
The March 2024 campaign mixed Steam reviews in part because endgame loot felt thin and the four-skill bar punished hybrid vocations. Dark Arisen is Capcom’s answer to that grind gap: a northern region around level 40, twelve Lost Rites dungeons from level 20, and a relic cycle that costs Rift Crystals. The getting started plan still matters — you should be comfortable with pawns, Ferrystones, and at least one hybrid vocation before you chase S-tier theory.
Producer Naoto Oyama and director Kento Kinoshita have been clear that the October 9 package is story plus dungeons plus cosmetics, not a new class roster. If a rumor claims a hidden eleventh vocation, it is wrong until Capcom says otherwise.
How to use the hub on launch week
- Read vocation ranks once so you know which Arisen jobs we currently favor in Norgan snow and which we treat as pawn specialists.
- Lock a four-person plan on party compositions. Do not copy an online raid template; there is no human raid.
- Save endgame builds for after you understand relics and the difference between appraised gear and Lost Rites sets.
- Recheck this hub after launch when we can replace preview language with actual drop tables.
Until October 9, the honest rank is the one that admits uncertainty. A Magick Archer with a high-roll relic bow will look broken in a demo clip. A Trickster without a prepared pawn line will look useless in the same clip. Both statements can be true, and neither is a substitute for playing the snow yourself.
For story context around the people you will actually meet in those ranked fights, see the characters hub, especially Eir and the Fallen Dragon. For dates and free patches that already changed skill slots, use the updates hub.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers before the October 9, 2026 launch.
Is this a live-game tier list?
No. Dark Arisen launches October 9, 2026. These pages are pre-release rankings based on official vocation rules, the six-skill title update, and hands-on relic examples. They will be rewritten after launch.
Are there new vocations to rank?
No. Producer Naoto Oyama confirmed there are no brand-new vocations. The ten base-game jobs remain the full roster. Six equipped weapon skills and relic-rolled skills are the real rank shifters.
Should I rank pawns the same way I rank the Arisen?
No. Pawns are AI companions. Mage and Fighter often play better as pawn roles than as your personal vocation. Use the party compositions page for four-person plans and the vocation ranks page for Arisen-first picks.
Do Lost Rites and Norgan use the same loot for ranking gear?
No. Relic appraisal happens only in Norgan, paid in Rift Crystals at Jiera. Lost Rites drop fixed equipment tied to past Arisen. Endgame builds treat those as two different power tracks.
Will Hard Mode change these ranks?
Possibly later, but not on October 9. Hard Mode is in development after launch for level-cap players and is not confirmed in the shipping expansion. Do not wait on it before picking a vocation.
