Guides Hub

This hub is the map of every Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen guide on the wiki. The expansion is still upcoming — it launches October 9, 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam, and Nintendo Switch 2 — so every page here separates what Capcom has confirmed from what remains unknown. Steam storefronts may show an October 8 unlock in some regions. Treat that as a time-zone listing, not a second launch.

Capcom frames Dark Arisen around three pillars: the Forsaken Dominion story in snowy Norgan, twelve Lost Rites dungeon challenges on the base map, and new hairstyles and tattoos in the character creator. Producer Naoto Oyama and director Kento Kinoshita (who directed the original Dark Arisen) have also described a Relic Expedition Cycle that only runs in the north, plus free title updates that already change how you play the base game. This hub tells you which guide to open first depending on whether you already have a level-capped Arisen or you are buying the $49.99 bundle as a new player.

Start here

If you have not touched Vermund since 2024, begin with Getting Started. That checklist covers editions ($29.99 expansion DLC versus the $49.99 bundle), the Switch 2 SKU that includes both, the Norgan Fashion Set / Northern Attire pre-order bonus, system specs, and the level 40 recommendation for the snow. Then read How to Play so the August title update’s six weapon skill slots, camping, ferrystones, and pawn commands are fresh before you spend Rift Crystals on relics.

Returning players who already sit near or above level 40 can skip the onboarding tone and jump to Norgan plus the relic loop. You will still want the vocation page, because there are no new classes — the combat change is six equipped skills instead of four, plus relic weapons that can roll unique or upgraded skills.

Three pillars, two progression tracks

Forsaken Dominion is the story campaign. Oyama expects 15–20 hours in Norgan. Lost Rites are twelve Pathfinder trials sprinkled across the original world, each designed for about 30–60 minutes, which is how the team arrives at 25+ hours of extra content in total. Those two tracks are meant to be played in parallel. Early Lost Rites open from around level 20 and drop fixed-property gear once worn by past Arisen. Norgan’s unidentified spoils stay random until Jiera appraises them at the Norgandian Settlement. You can carry relic gear into Lost Rites, but you cannot farm the relic cycle itself outside the north.

That split is the most common source of confusion in previews. Players coming from the 2013 Dark Arisen remember cursed loot on Bitterblack Isle. This expansion keeps the identify-then-equip fantasy, then spreads it across a whole region instead of one megadungeon. Kinoshita has been explicit: relic acquisition and appraisal happen only in Norgan so the biome stays distinct. The payoff is that you are not locked there. Warp south, test a roll on a red-glow trial, then return north if the next dungeon outpaces you.

Party, ranks, and dates

Combat in this game is still a four-person, single-player party: your Arisen, your main pawn, and two hired pawns. The campaign is single-player. Hired pawns are AI, including ones borrowed from other players’ Riftstones. Read Pawns before you hire a Magick Archer with no ice resist for a blizzard hunt. For vocation strength, open the tier list, then the more specific vocation ranks, party comps, and endgame builds pages. Those lists will stay labeled as pre-launch reads until the expansion is in players’ hands.

Dates matter because free patches and paid DLC are easy to mix up. The June title update added the Eternal Ferrystone and extra Portcrystals. The August title update raised skill slots from four to six, expanded save slots from one to three (each with autosave, interim, and inn-rest files — not multiple slots for the same Arisen), improved performance, and adjusted Dragonsplague. Hard Mode is in development for after launch, aimed at level-cap players; it is not confirmed in the October 9 package. Keep those distinctions on the title updates log and the release date page.

What is still unknown

Capcom has not published a full Lost Rites location list, a complete relic affix table, or the exact story quest that first opens Norgan. Preview sessions describe access from relatively early in the campaign, a blacksmith who can craft warmer armor, a direwolf named Freki who sniffs out buried relics after a scripted beat, and enemies such as the woolly Norgan Giant, greatsword barbarians, electric saurians, ice dragonkin called Fimbl, and swarms of flying pests. Until launch, this wiki will not invent chest contents, RC price lists, or dungeon names. If a guide says something is unconfirmed, treat that as a feature, not a gap to fill with rumor.

Story pages for Eir and the Fallen Dragon stay spoiler-light on purpose. The dragon is heartless — a hollow chest where a heart should be — and Eir is the woman who hunts it across the abandoned north. That is enough to plan a party. It is not enough to spoil the campaign.

How to use the child pages

Use this index as a launch-week checklist, not as a lore dump. Getting Started is the storefront and prep page. How to Play is the mechanical refresh. Controls covers pads and the Title Update 3.2 keyboard layouts. Norgan is the region walkthrough. Relics is the loot loop. Lost Rites is the base-map dungeon track. Enemies lists what previews actually named. Vocations and Pawns are the build pages. Dragonsplague is the Title Update 3.2 cure and combat-trade page. Transmog is the Norgan side-quest unlock that keeps relic stats while swapping meshes. Cross-link those with pre-order, platforms, previews, and system requirements so you do not buy the wrong SKU or under-spec a PC.

When October 9 arrives, the first edits on this hub will be access steps, inn storage reminders for Northern Attire, and a short “do this on day one” route. Until then, the useful work is choosing a vocation, parking Portcrystals, curing Dragonsplague the new way, and deciding whether you will push Lost Rites from level 20 or wait to walk into Norgan at 40 with a six-skill bar you actually understand.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers before the October 9, 2026 launch.
